Dear Portia, In this Thanksgiving/Christmas/Hanukkah season we want to say how much we appreciate your interest, prayer and support. Indeed, in this “giving” season, we give thanks especially to all our partners. The days in which we live are as daunting as the future we face. I am constantly reminded of the prayer that Jesus told us to pray – and if he told us to pray this prayer, he obviously intends to answer it; “Watch intently and pray fervently that you may have strength to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.” (Luke 21:36) The Big Switch is Complete! It’s a done deal. We have our new web site up and running and we think you’ll really like it. Some very savvy web site observers have given us an A+ for our efforts. If you haven’t already, check us out at: www.thejerusalemconnection.us It really is the go-to site for all things Israel viewed from a Biblical perspective! Don’t just check it out, but we hope you’ll put our site on your “Favorite Places” so you can stay current regarding the updates we make every day. You’ll need to spend some time on the site just to see the wealth and breadth of information we have. One aspect of our ministry that we hope to revive is the “Watchmen Brigade.” At one time this intercessory prayer effort was very effective in our ministry. We think the signs of the times require that it be re-activated. To help facilitate this, go to “The Watchmen Brigade” and you will see a list of ten prayers items that will be updated each week – more often if necessary. We hope that many of you will join us in establishing small intercessory prayer groups on behalf of Israel and our ministry. Please do let us know if you are doing this so that we can be in direct contact with you. The problem comes in the pronunciation of LORD. This is God’s title, it is not his name. God’s name Yahweh has been replaced by his title LORD or Adonai or HaShem. His name, Yahweh, has been known by scholars and rabbis for centuries. This is his name for all eternity and the name that God instructed Moses to use, especially for the blessing of Israel, the people of God (Exodus 3:15). Then why isn’t his name used? Primarily because the rabbis and sages thought his name would be desecrated or used in vain if it were used in common usage. Out of a misguided sense of reverence Jews were forbidden to use the name of Yahweh. As a result Jews and Christians have been denied the covering blessings that come when God sees his name upon his people. It’s as though God is saying, “when I see my name, the name Yahweh, on my people, they are now in a position where I am free (obligated?) to bestow blessing and protection, grace and peace, upon them.” So, when you come together during this holiday season, in addition to remembering the Savior’s birth and bidding all Merry Christmas (come on let’s not hesitate to say it) be sure to pronounce God’s blessing on his people in the way he said to do it. You can be certain that his promise for blessing will be forthcoming. Praise Yahweh. Also, be assured this is our prayer of blessing for all of you who read this letter. I know you have many options this Christmas season to give your support to many God-ordained organizations. We’re grateful for your consideration of The Jerusalem Connection. Od yavo Shiloh (until Messiah comes),
