Evangelical, Jewish Leaders Call for Sanctions Against Iran
By Ethan Cole,
Christian Post

Evangelical Christian and Jewish leaders are calling for immediate sanctions against Iran to discourage the government from developing nuclear weapons.

Dr. Richard Land, president of the Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, joined Paul de Vries, president of the New York Divinity School and leader of the New York Evangelicals, and Joseph Potasnik, executive vice president of the New York Board of Rabbis, in issuing a statement urging all governments to apply sanctions as a tool for effective diplomacy and to encourage human rights efforts of Iranian citizens.

The leaders explained their concern derives from the “grave threat” of a nuclear Iran against people in the United States, Israel, as well as Iran’s Muslim neighbors. The threats posed by a nuclear weapon-possessing Iran include throwing Gulf Arab states into a nuclear arm race that would cause instability in the region; strengthening the rule of the militant Shia regime against Iran’s new reform leaders and youth attracted to human rights; and a likely total confrontation with Israel and the world to hasten the return of the 12th imam.

Shiite Muslims view chaos as a good thing because they believe it will usher the return of their 12th imam and lead to a one-world Muslim domination.  Continue Reading>>

One that calls for a Response
Each week we take a meaningful quote, tie it to scripture, and leave you with a take-home.

House Resolution 867, introduced by Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, calls on the Obama administration to oppose efforts by the Arab states in the UN General Assembly and other international forums to use the “Goldstone report” as a propaganda tool and a diplomatic weapon to attack Israel. In all, 33 Democrats voted “no” and 20 Democrats voted “present” for a total of 21 percent of the Democratic caucus that did not support this pro-Israel measure. The final roll call vote passed on the House floor was 344 for, 36 against, and 22 present. Democrats continue to campaign in the Jewish community as unwavering friends of Israel, but when it comes to acting on those promises, leading Democrats fall short.

God says: “Be on your guard against the yeast of hypocrisy. There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the housetops.”… “The Spirit clearly says that in the latter times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.” (Luke 12:1-2; I Timothy 4:1-2).

The Jerusalem Connection says: Very likely there will be others of both parties that will back away from their support of Israel in the future. Especially, this will be so if Israel takes pre-emptive action against Iran’s nuclear buildup. Support for Israel should be a top priority for those seeking elected office in 2010 and 2012. We dare not let them get away with anything less.

Palestinian historian denies thousands of years of Jewish history
By Palestinian Media Watch

Nabil Alqam, PA historian:
"Why does the occupation [Israel] concern itself with stealing, [cultural] theft, distorting and erasing the Palestinian heritage? Because it [Israel] seeks a history [in the land] while [Palestinian] heritage is a history that proves our connection to the land... [The Palestinian heritage] has historical depth of 4,000 to 5,000 years. And here [Israel] attempts to steal these symbols to create fake Israeli symbols and identity."
