The Bible the greatest book ever written
The Bible draws a picture in great detail like a fine artist of the condition of man, the good the bad and the indifferent. Every stumbling block known to man is clearly written about in the Bible. Also, Yeshua our Savior is written about in the Bible from the beginning to end in an unbroken chain of events. However, my personal favorite moments of greatness are found in the Bible when God shows his power and majesty. If you ask me to name a favorite Bible story it would be hard because so many speak to me for example the story of Abraham and his submission to God when a major sacrifice was required, Noah and his faithfulness to the will of God which saved mankind, Joseph remained strong in his faith and forgave his brothers abuse and a major family scandal, Daniel refused to eat the Kings food. I could go on but God showed favor to each because of their obedience. in a mighty way. I will mention one story though and that is the story of Jonah who God called into a specific commission and he at first refused to do it eventually he found that you cannot refuse to answer your calling at lease not without grave consequences. The story of Jonah says that if you do not comprehend the lesson that God is trying to teach you, He is patient, He is kind and He will give you test after test so that you will know the full extent of all the weapons in your spiritual arsenol. He thru His word prepares you well to be on the front lines of the army of the Lord.
The Bible the Inspired Word of God
I wrote above that every stumbling block known to man is clearly written about in the Bible now I want to give an example that was given to me by the Holy Spirit.
I feel that the following verses prove that the Bible is the inspired word of God. These words have a direct application for today. Line by line, verse by verse they could have been written in 2008. Think about it closely and tell me if I am right. Starting with Judges 17:6
NASB Jdg 17:6
Micah's Idolatry 6 In those days there was no king in Israel; every man did what was right in his own eyes.
--------------------------------------------------------
Does this not sound like the mantra of today's fallen world. How many times have unbelievers said to me that they think that they are good people. This is todays self standard "every man did what was right in his own eyes."
NASB Jdg 21:25
Provision for Their Survival 25 In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.
-------------------------------------------------------
In today's world people look to the media and entertainment to tell them how to think, behave, dress etc without fully understanding that the media outlets are merely trying to sell a product not elevate the lives of people. God is not King for most people.
NASB 1Sa 2:10
Hannah's Song of Thanksgiving 10 "Those who contend with the Lord will be shattered; Against them He will thunder in the heavens, The Lord will judge the ends of the earth; And He will give strength to His king, And will exalt the horn of His anointed.
-------------------------------------------------------
" 911 was a shattering moment, Katrina was a shattering moment and in my opinion the last election was a shattering moment.
NASB 1Sa 8:5
Israel Demands a King 5 and they said to him, "Behold, you have grown old, and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now appoint a king for us to judge us like all the nations."
--------------------------------------------------------
In the last election people had good reason to be dissatisfied with the Administration but it wasn't a good idea to have a knee jerk reaction and elect a person who was the exact opposite. This was not a well thought out plan and it had diasterous results. It meant the appointing of someone who looked good and said good things but was not good for our country. Some people voted because of race, some because of educational background and some had other superficial reasons but few looked within to character.
NASB 1Sa 8:6
Israel Demands a King 6 But the thing was displeasing in the sight of Samuel when they said, "Give us a king to judge us." And Samuel prayed to the Lord.
-------------------------------------------------------
When things are going terribly wrong in the world the thing to do is as Samuel did and pray to the Lord for guidance. I frequently feel the spirit of fear moving towards my spirit. I know that in and of myself I do not have the power to influence the decisions that have been made nor do I have influence over the consequences. I just pray. I just pray and trust the Lord.
NASB 1Sa 8:7
Israel Demands a King 7 The Lord said to Samuel, "Listen to the voice of the people in regard to all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me from being king over them.
---------------------------------------------------------
Bingo!!!!!!! Here is the problem in America , the people have rejected God from being King over them and that is what happened in the last election.
NASB 1Sa 8:9
Israel Demands a King 9 "Now then, listen to their voice; however, you shall solemnly warn them and tell them of the procedure of the king who will reign over them."
----------------------------------------------------------
The American people were given a clear picture of what kind of Administration they were about to elect but went ahead anyway. Many predicted what would happen but were ignored.
Praise God for conservative talk TV and Radio for giving us an outlet for truth telling.
NASB 1Sa 8:10
Warning concerning a King Warning concerning a King
---------------------------------------------------------
It is evident that God knows. He knows everything. He has a plan for our folly and it can be found in the Word of God. Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
