If Obama abandons Israel, what then?
By Victor Sharpe, American Thinker

August 15, 2005, began as a day of infamy. It ushered in a great tribulation for the Jewish state, but one forced upon it by its very own Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon.

It began one day after the annual commemoration of the saddest day in the Jewish calendar, Tisha B' Av, the ninth day of the Hebrew month of Av when, according to tradition, both Temples in Jerusalem were destroyed; the first one by the Babylonians in 586 BC and the second by the Romans in 70 AD.

On that August day, the Jews of Gaza began to be driven from their homes by Israeli soldiers and police acting on the orders of their Prime Minister. The tragedy ended one week later, known now by its euphemism -- disengagement. Its self-imposed execution ushered in a needless catastrophe for Israel and eventually led to the occupation of Gaza by Hamas through an election engineered by Condoleezza Rice.

Hamas thus came to power using a democratic tool and subsequently destroyed its rival, Fatah, in a bloody massacre; the same Hamas, which proclaims its Constitution is the Koran and implacably calls for the destruction of Israel. Continue Reading>>

One that calls for a Response
Each week we take a meaningful quote, tie it to scripture, and leave you with a take-home.

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said: “There is no escaping the two state-solution…. The United States will be vigorously engaged in the pursuit of a two-state solution every step of the way….We are committed to a two-state solution. I feel passionate about this ... it's not just part of my portfolio. …The assistance we are offering is integral to our broader goals of a comprehensive peace and a two state solution. By providing humanitarian assistance to Gaza, we also aim to foster conditions in which a Palestinian state can be fully realized. … It is our assessment that eventually, the inevitability of working towards a two-state solution is inescapable.”

God says: “Because you have said, ‘These two nations and countries will be ours and we will take possession of them,’ even though I the LORD was there, therefore as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I will treat you in accordance with the anger and jealousy you showed in your hatred of them and I will make myself known among them when I judge you.”… “I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will enter into judgment against them concerning my inheritance, my people Israel, for they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land.” (Ezekiel 35:1-2; Joel 3:2).

The Jerusalem Connection: Not only is the Obama administration committed to the “two-sate solution” but it wants a contiguous Palestinian state which means Israel will be cut in half. This is a catastrophe waiting to happen. To continue the failed policy of “land for peace” meets Einstein’s definition of insanity repeating the same action over and over again, expecting a different result. Even worse is the inevitable and certain judgment of God on those who, “divided up my land.” At the top of that list must be the United States unless we change our “two-state-solution” policy. God help us!
