Don't Forget- God is Still in Control!
By Gary Bauer, American Values

Tuff election, eh?  Always is when God does something outside the box, our box.  You know, floods all over the world, His people wandering all over the desert, stuff like that.  At least, that’s the way it is for those of us who believe our lives are governed by the rules God laid out in Scripture.  It does appear that the Lord God Almighty Sovereign who has privileged us to know and worship Him has graced us with yet another surprise.  News flash:  Progressives with a liberal agenda won big.  Presidency, governorships, senators, representatives and fairly soon federal and Supreme Court justices supported by a liberal media.  Stacked against us who have largely traditional conservative values?

Maybe.  So what?

Well, think about it beyond these first moments of disappointment (possibly rage if you’re a conservative political activist) and those that follow each lavishly reported event of our soon-to-be President.  How about this:  Take God’s point of view.  Huh?   Yes!  Despite the truly wondrous privilege of the free vote of Americans, this was God’s vote.  And He did not wait until 11pm to discover the results.  He was not caught by surprise.  It’s part of a plan unfolding through the ages.  Yes, the one He lets us in on through inspired Scripture.   The process of history and its conclusion is His alone.  Which is to say it’s not President Obama’s, his Congress, his Court, or his press.

With divine realities unfolding, how, to use Schaefer’s prodding question, shall we then live?  It is the central question.  God our Father wants us to know where we fit in history.  “History is His story.”   That’s not an overused sermon sound bite.  It was, is, and shall be.  You and I are obligated to grasp this and live by it.

Let’s try thinking about this in stages.  Getting a firm inner sense that the Creator and Sustainer is ruling all of mankind is stage one.  It’s called by theologians, “Sovereignty”.  Continue Reading>>

One that calls for a Response
Each week we take a meaningful quote, tie it to scripture, and leave you with a take-home.

Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, said:  "[As a result of this election]  Christians should pray for and return to a biblical model of holiness and righteousness. And believers in America should prepare for persecution. We are going to see, I think, unprecedented attacks against our faith through measures like the hate crimes [legislation] to the Employment Non-Discrimination Act,"... "We're going to see attacks on innocent human life through the Freedom of Choice Act, trying to erase all the gains that have been made in the pro-life movement. And I think even our freedoms are going to come under attack."

God says: "Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." (Matthew 24:9-14).

The Jerusalem Connection says: If I were to pinpoint where we are on God's prophetic time-line, I would say we are about to enter into the season spoken of in the above scriptures. Yet, as Gary Bauer reminds us, God is still in control. "There is no authority except which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God." (Romans 13:1). Knowing that God is in control we also have a mandate from God to pray for those in authority. "I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." (I Timothy 2:1-5). That call to prayer transcends political party and idealogical lines. It will also be critical if we are indeed entering into a time Christian persecution.

Educating young Children to deny Israel's right to exist
Palestinian Media Watch

"Do you know what happened in 1948?" asks a pretty young girl on Palestinian Authority (PA) TV. "They [Israelis] took everything," is her answer.  This message was broadcast again recently when a music video for children reappeared on PA TV after a year's absence.  That "Israel took everything in 1948" summarizes the essence of PA ideology, and the motivation for the continuing hatred and war against Israel.
