Sarah Palin and Israel
by The Lekarev Report

Senator McCain's running mate in the US presidential election, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, met with the board of directors of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee on Wednesday and expressed her admiration for Israel.

Palin, joined by Sen. Joe Lieberman, expressed her "heartfelt support for Israel" and spoke of the threats it faces from Iran and others, the campaign official said. She had planned a visit to the country in November of 2007, but had to cancel because of her pregnancy.

AIPAC spokesman Josh Block was pleased with the meeting. "We had a good productive discussion on the importance of the U.S.-Israel relationship, we were pleased that Gov. Palin expressed her deep, personal, and lifelong commitment to the safety and well-being of Israel," he said.  "Like Sen. McCain, the vice presidential nominee understands and believes in the special friendship between the two democracies and would work to expand and deepen the strategic partnership in a McCain/Palin Administration."

Additionally, Rabbi Yossi Greenberg, the Chabad emissary in Alaska, reports that Palin, who enjoys wide popularity in her home state, also has the respect and support of the Jewish community there.

One that calls for a Response
Each week we take a meaningful quote, tie it to scripture, and leave you with a take-home.

Cal Thomas said: Sarah Palin is a serious, practicing Christian, unlike some in the Democratic Party who have studied how to manipulate religious language and imagery to dupe some churchgoers into voting for Obama. In contrast to Obama's pastor for 20 years, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who preached hate-filled, anti-American sermons, the sermons at Palin's former church, Wasilla Bible Church (she now attends a church with similar beliefs called Juneau Christian Center), were far more Bible-based and traditional. Sermon titles dealt with personal sin, how to give God joy, assurance of an afterlife and how to get there by serving God and others. The media will go to the church's "statement of faith" and try to paint her as a bigot and exclusionist for believing what Jesus said about Himself and the path to salvation.

God says:
"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. ... A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them."
(Matthew 7:15-20).

The Jerusalem Connection says:
Sarah Palin is the liberal's worst nightmare. The Medianite's attacks on her have been and will no doubt continue to be vicious. Let's face it, they are desparate to see her defeated. Therefore God's people must undergird her in prayer -- for God's protection, for wisdom, discernment and uncommon courage. She is indeed a "Game Changer." As a matter of fact the elections here in the United States and in Israel will also be "game changers," regardless of who wins. Pray that the change that occurs will be more closely aligned with God's Word, especially regarding Israel.
